Noyo Printworks is a community studio for printmaking and letterpress in downtown Fort Bragg - 215 Laurel St.
With support from the City of Fort Bragg, Flockworks transformed the former boy’s locker room of the historic swim center into a vibrant working Community Studio. Community donations helped equip the studio with a 1961 Vandercook Letterpress, a small Kelsey Letterpress and cases of moveable type, plus Printmakers press, cutting equipment, stainless steel sink, work tables, chairs, storage shelves and more. A grant from the Community Foundation of Mendocino funded our sign and helped get things off the ground.
Noyo Printworks opened its doors in 2015 as a studio space for local arts and has facilitated on-going Studio groups dedicated to the shared practice of print making and letterpress. The Studio provides a bright, well-equipped and intimate space for focused work. Workshops, Artist talks, an annual print sale, and special events including 1st Friday Art Walk open the doors to the wider community and capture the imagination of visitors. The studio is run with volunteer time and supported by modest studio use and workshop fees.
