FBUSD Programs

Expanded Learning

We've partnered with the Fort Bragg Unified School District to bring art into after-school programs,  enriching
learning and fostering creativity. Our inclusive initiatives create a safe,  positive space where children can
express themselves, build confidence, and grow.
These initiatives integrate art into core learning, enrich student experiences, and foster creativity and self-expression.
Our programs create inclusive art opportunities that strengthen social-emotional learning, enhance educational outcomes, and build resilience among students. They help celebrate student voices, support teacher goals, and provide vibrant
ways for young people to engage with their peers, their schools, and the broader Mendocino Coast community.

Arts@ School Program

Since 2007, Flockworks has inspired children's creativity through partnerships with local schools and community programs. For many years, we worked alongside area schools to provide elementary students with the tools, materials, and opportunities for art-integrated learning. This program played a significant role in Flockworks' history, helping nurture creativity, support learning, and foster a lifelong appreciation for the arts in our community.
We know art matters. It helps us imagine a more hopeful future, reduces stress, supports emotional well-being,
and activates the brain's reward center. Through art, we learn. Art connects us to history, geography, science, language, and so much more. It encourages us to explore the world through different perspectives, cultures, and ways of thinking.

As we create, we experiment with ideas, color, balance, rhythm, form, texture, value, and composition. We learn to
usenew tools, embrace mistakes as part of the creative process, solve problems, and share ideas.
Along the way, we discover that there are many ways to approach the same challenge,
and that creativity grows through curiosity, exploration, and collaboration.
