Upwelling Initiative

Ocean Upwelling Initiative brings together Art and Science in understanding our coastal and marine environment. With the Noyo Center for Marine Science, we partner in the Discovery Center on Main Street in Fort Bragg. We bring art to the MakersSpace and help with exhibits, displays and events.  Flockworks' has a Creative Space behind the Discovery Center, with a Studio for our Artist- n-Residence and storage for tools and materials. We foster hands-on creative learning and support community events like the annual Art & Science Fair, Earth Day and International Oceans Day, create plastic Trash Fashion, or make Ocean Floats community Parades. The creative possibilities are unlimited as we help raise awareness about our delicate coastal environment.
